Ich stieß vor kurzem im Netz, auf der Webseite eines kleinen Gitarrenladens, auf eine Greco ES-335. Kenner wissen, dass Greco in den 70er & 80er Jahren in den japanischen Werken von Gibson produzierten und die Instrumente von damals sowohl qualitativ als auch klanglich absolut ebenbürtig zu den Originalen sind. Heute sind sie bereits Raritäten und nur noch schwer zu bekommen.
Ich ging das Risiko ein und kaufte sie direkt ohne sie vorher angespielt zu haben. Axel, der Besitzer des Gitarren-Ladens und Sammler von feinsten Vintage Gitarren, Bässen & Pedals der 70er & frühen 80er, war so nett, sie direkt zu mir zu schicken und so kam sie noch vor Heiligabend an.
Koffer auf, Gitarre raus, angespielt - Liebe! Sie klingt und spielt sich fantastisch. Nur die Pickups sind etwas dumpf und klingen wenig druckvoll, was aber nicht wirklich ein Problem darstellt. Habe ein Paar "Antiquity" -Pickups von Seymour Duncan, die ich bald einbauen werde.

Recently found this ES-335 clone by Greco online at a small guitar boutique. Experts know that in the 70s & 80s Greco was producing in the same japanese factories as Gibson and these instruments are pretty much equal to the models of Gibson in terms of build quality and tone. Today they are already rarities and hard to get.
I took the risk and bought it right away. Axel, the owner of the guitar-shop who's collecting fine vintage guitars, Basses & pedals from the 70s & early 80s, was kind enough to send it directly to me and it still showed up on christmas eve.
Opened the case, took out the guitar and began to play. I instantly fell in love with it. It sounds an plays fantastic. Only the pickups are a bit dull und less powerful, but that's not really a problem. I have a pair of Seymour Duncan's "Antiquity" -Pickups to put in soon.
